Frequently asked questions
Does Neurotechnology give humans "super" or "inhuman" capacities?
The answer is no, neurotechnology is used to restore functions and allow its users to return to their day-to-day life. Neurotechnology is not about creating superhumans; it is about keeping the ones we have healthy and ready to live happy lives.
Can neurotechnology be used to transmit your thoughts or read minds?
No, neurotechnology is not a way of mind reading; however, it can indeed help to translate stimuli from the brain and be used to transmit that stimulus into a device such as a prosthetic so the user can control it, but this will never mean that your thoughts, such as your opinions, can be "read" through the use of these devices.
Does neurotechnology necessarily refer to invasive procedures such as implanting devices inside your body?
Most people could think that this is true; however, neurotechnology does NOT necessarily mean you need to go as extreme as getting devices inside your body, if it is well true that some devices such as brain computer interfaces do require invasive procedures, it is not the same for all of them, one example of an non invasive device would be an MRI, which works as an imaging device and does not involve any implantations or wires to get placed into the patient at all.
